My art has consistently centered on societal challenges. I have felt an obligation towards shining a light on what i see as connections between concepts others might not see as connected. I continue that thread with my current series of paintings entitled "Not Now." in them I contrast current existence in Tokyo (with an anime/manga flavor) with classical Japanese bijinga artworks. I especially try to depict the existence of today's hikikomori - or shut-ins. I try to contrast their isolation with the pastoral expectations of traditional Japanese art. While I do create most of my work independently I am open to creating commissions. Please use the like below to inquire.
